It's winter – cold weather is appreciated to help keep flea populations reduced, but unfortunately may exacerbate arthritis in our older pets.

Pancree - a - what??
It's Holiday season – that means lots of home cooked meals and leftovers. Our pets thoroughly enjoy the delicious food smells from the kitchen and the leftovers too! A disease called pancreatitis may be induced if too many leftovers are fed, the wrong kind of leftovers are given or any leftovers are fed to a pet with poor digestion. More about Commercial Pet Foods:
“The big three mass marketers of pet food – Nestlé Purina, Mars, and Big Heart Pet Brands (recently acquired by J.M. Smucker) – are all investing heavily in the natural segment via brand reformulations, new product introductions, and acquisitions.” per Dr. Becker's article. The term “natural segment” above refers to the brands of pet foods that I recommend – yes, they are being bought out by the large corporations above. The article went on to describe comments about Nestle Purina's buy out of Merrick and Zuke's. |
